Diane Upright founded her private art consulting business in 1995. She specializes in European and American art of the twentieth century and is the acknowledged expert for the work of the American artist Morris Louis (1912 - 1962).

Her catalogues raisonnés of Louis’s paintings (Morris Louis: The Complete Paintings, New York, 1985) and drawings (The Drawings of Morris Louis, Washington, DC, 1979) form the basis of the official Morris Louis Website (www.morrislouis.org), which was launched in 2014.

Prior to establishing Diane Upright Fine Arts, she was Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Virginia; Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Harvard University; Curator at the Museum of Modern Art of Fort Worth; Director of Jan Krugier Gallery, New York; and Director of Contemporary Art… at Christie’s, New York.
